Kindred Spirits Airdrie Echo, September 2, 2010 Eight years ago, three local women came together and formed a musical group. Today, they are preparing to release their debut album. When you expect great things, they arrive in threes. Theresa Wasden, Sheila Ross and Andrea Morton are Kindred. They sing anthems that claim hearts, open minds and lift spirits. Appearances include:
Kindred began with Theresa and Sheila singing together for the folk club, Days Ride North (as in -a days ride north of Calgary). Soon the duo moved to producing shows for community events and schools, recording together and then... there were three. Andrea Morton joined to do the Big Band Series and complete the Andrews Sisters material. Three was right and Kindred was born. Theresa Wasden: Director, producer, singer/songwriter, event speaker for leadership and Emotional Fitness, Executive Performance Coach. Theresa's career spans Opera to Jazz; theatre stage to television. As producer of Red Box Opera and Music In Common Educational Programs, she has influenced lives throughout Canada. As an International Coach, she has had opportunity to enable great minds to evaluate their contributions and legacy. That parallels her writing in Kindred. She utilizes rhythm and music to awaken and enliven everyone in the room. www.theresawasden.com Sheila Ross: Singer, dancer, stage director, choreographer, life and leadership coach. Sheila brings energy to the stage and the room simply by walking in. As a professional dancer, teacher, and entertainer she has brought that wake up call to audiences across Canada. Her work includes theatre performance, partnership with various charities such as the Seniors Performing Arts of Calgary, hosting, Executive Administrator for Red Box Productions, director for Puppets for Peace and Emotional Fitness conference presenter. The song "And the Angels Came" is based on a poem of Sheila's by the same name. www.liveyourbest.ca Andrea Morton: Singer, entertainer, dancer, executive assistant. From event planning for oil and gas companies in Calgary's downtown to singing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Andrea makes it fun! Her years of camp counseling, theatre teaching and dance come together to create Kindred's world. She grew up being a part of the My Child Concert series for the Children's Wish Foundation, Music in Common Productions and dancing for Calgary's Stampede events. Entertaining, and spontaneous, she is always connected to her audience. Kindred's strength is in the connection they complete between your organization and your audience.
